About UPRS

Protecting and promoting music rights in Uganda

The Uganda Performing Rights Society (UPRS) represents and protects the rights of music creators and publishers. Through licensing, rights management, and fair royalty distribution, UPRS ensures that creators are properly recognized and compensated when their music is used publicly.

Who we are

UPRS is Uganda’s collective management organization responsible for administering performing rights on behalf of composers, songwriters, and music publishers. The society licenses the use of music to businesses, broadcasters, venues, and other music users, ensuring that creators receive fair remuneration for the use of their works.

By managing these rights collectively, UPRS simplifies the licensing process for music users while ensuring that creators benefit from the value their music generates in the public sphere.

Our Mission
